On Oct 6, 31 years ago, the court house in Charlotte had media from all over the country covering the Jim Bakker trial for fraud and conspiracy. I was about a year away from ending a 20 year career at WBT, and in 1985, I started a limousine service for my second act. When PTL closed in ’87, I bought Jim Bakker’s Cadillac limo. I couldn’t resist. When the trial was set, I called Morris Costumes and got two full-faced rubber masks of Jim and Tammy. My wife Lucille and I showed up in the limo, and the media went nuts. Here’s the story and a picture. Enjoy the memory.
